Dick Fapper is a gay man that came of age in that magical time between Stonewall and the HIV plague. His erotic sensibilities grew in the fertile grounds of the sexual margins, when queerness was raw and pure, not yet tainted by death and assimilation. Most of his published work, under other pseudonyms, are sexy but tend to avoid on-page explicit sex. Some of his fellow writers have teased him about this and then challenged him to go full smut. He resisted. Then he broke and submitted, for he is old and forgot his safe word. Sigh. His stories are rooted in his experience as a very sexual young gay man, at least as best as he can remember it, for he has been gay-dead for a very long time. Another sigh.
